How to Book a Tatkal Ticket at IRCTC ? 

The person who are seeking to reserve their Tatkal tickets they must having a account in IRCTC and next he/she having an ID card approved by Govt of India or State. Tatkal service is only available to book before day of your traveling day and it's available only on 10AM to 11AM every day. Follow the below given steps to book your Tatkal ticket.

• First goto www.irctc.co.in 
• Than please enter the user name and password ( Registered username and password only allowed to login)
• After the login to IRCTC, PLAN MY TRIP appears left side of the IRCTC website here we can able to specify the FROM and TO city or town railway station names.
• Next we must select the date of next day and select ticket Quota is TATKAL than click on Find trains.
• Here after clicking on FIND TRAINS we can able to see the list of trains at the date we are specified and need to select the type of seats needed as per passenger choice like Sleeper, 1A, 2A, 3A, 2S..etc,. click on BOOK NOW option 
• Mention the traveler name, sex, age and ID card type and ID card number and please fill the image capture at bottom of the webpage and than click on GO 
• Now we are need to select the card type Credit card/Debit card or Net Banking and choose the banker name (SBI, SBH, HDFC, Andhra Bank etc,.)
• And than enter the card details properly to book your Tatkal tickets
• After that the IRCT (C account holder will get the conformation message with details of Passenger name and Seat number and IRCTC sends a mail to the account holder
• Mobile Message and Submitted ID card is enough to the Tatkal travelers. 

NOTE for Tatkal Travelers : 

1. Must Carrie the ticket conformation message or print out
2. ID card is very important to move (which is submitted at the time of  Tatkal ticket booking).

IRCTC General ticket reservation procedure : The general tickets needed people can able to book their tickets in advanced before more than one month of the traveling date. The general ticket booking not need any ID card to carry they just select the FROM and TO station and specify the traveling date than go to as normal procedure (Above specified for TATKAL).
